Pathology Expert Witness

Pathology expert witnesses evaluate tissue biopsy interpretation, surgical margin assessment, frozen section accuracy, autopsy findings, and clinical laboratory testing to determine whether diagnostic errors occurred and their impact on patient outcomes. They re-review slides, analyze immunohistochemistry panels, and assess whether the pathologist's diagnosis was consistent with the morphologic features visible at the time of original interpretation.

Cases commonly requiring pathology expertise include misdiagnosed malignancies resulting in delayed treatment or unnecessary surgery, false-negative Pap smears and cervical cancer screening failures, autopsy disputes in wrongful death and criminal matters, transfusion medicine errors, and clinical laboratory result misreporting. These cases often carry devastating consequences because downstream treatment decisions depend entirely on the pathologist's diagnostic accuracy.
